I grew up always going to church with my family, but it was a mission trip to New Orleans my junior year of high school that got me really realizing what it means to live a life following Jesus. Seeing God move on that trip opened my eyes both to the love that God has for His children and the need for His children to feel His love. Though there are ups and downs, I have dedicated my life to trying to get to know Him better, and sharing that love with those I come in contact with. God has given me a passion for loving the broken and empowering the lost to take part in His kingdom here on Earth.
I led my first middle school Bible study as a junior in high school and attended my first year of college at Central Michigan University before moving to Virginia Beach where I finished with my B.S. in Psychology at Regent University. I volunteered with Coastal for a number of years in both the Student and Young Adult Ministries before I came on staff in 2010. Alongside this ministry, I have volunteered my time helping run community student groups and began substitute teaching in the public school system before getting a job as a teaching assistant in the Special Education Department at a local high school.
